Last week we looked at various statements and events pointing clearly to the fact that Iraq was in possession of WMD. Let’s continue and conclude the WMD facet of the war in Iraq. Before looking at other events, I want to remind the reader of the Kenneth Pollack book (The Threatening Storm) that I referred to in the first piece on Iraq. Pollack makes it quite clear that Saddam was in possession of WMD.
However, there are other equally compelling events pointing to Saddam’s possession of WMD—HE USED THEM IN THE PAST, AND HE WANTED MORE OF THEM!!!
1. Prior Use.- On at least 2 prior occasions, of which the world is well aware, Saddam used WMD. First, during the Iraq-Iran war (1980-1988), Saddam used chemical weapons on the Iranians. He used them again to suppress an uprising by the dissident Kurds. On both occasions, Saddam was indifferent to the well-being of innocent women and children.
